Other More Viable Contestants in Miss Astro? DEFINITELY YES. Contestants in MCI was getting stronger year by year. In Miss Chinese International 2005, we have Leanne Li 李亞男 from Vancouver, Fala Chen 陳法拉 from New York City and Kate Tsui 徐子珊 from Hong Kong. A tough chance for Malaysia contestant.

But, there were some great contestants in Miss Malaysia Astro Chinese International Pageant 2004, like Penny Tan Ying Qing 陳瑩卿 who got Miss Photogenic Award and Body Beautiful Award, and Brigitte Tan Swee Ling 陳瑞琳 who got Websurfers Choice Award. Both of them didn’t get into top 5 in Malaysia final. sigh!

Other More Viable Contestants in Miss Astro? YES AND NO, because honestly, contestants of Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2005 were not really that strong. Annabelle Kong Pooi Yee 江佩莹 seems to be a good choice or maybe Lim Yen Keun 林苑君 could be better.

In Miss Chinese International 2006, there were many strong contestants such as Crystal Li 李培禎 from Vancouver, Sasha Lin Yi Fan 林羿汎 from Taipei, Elva Ni Chen Xi 倪晨曦 from Toronto, Tracy Ip Chui Chui 葉翠翠 from Hong Kong, and Ina Lu Yi Hui 呂怡慧 from Johannesburg. But somehow, maybe due to some external factors, the theme of the year, lots of luck and the exceptional oral skills of Malaysia contestant, Malaysia managed to get the 2nd runner-up title. The competition this year marked the lowest contestant turnout until 2013, with only 17 delegates competing and the promotional advertisement for this pageant, entitled "Eternal Beauty" (絕色篇).

Other More Viable Contestants in Miss Astro? YES FOR SURE. Contestants like Clare Wong Yee Chin 黃意晶 and Josephine Goh Lee Chen 吳俐璇 would most likely secure at least a top 5 position in Miss Chinese International Pageant.

Contestants in Miss Chinese International Pageant 2007 were not really that strong except for several few like Sarah Song 宋熙年 from Sydney, Aimee Chan 陳茵媺 from Hong Kong, and Sherry Chen Shuang 陳爽 from Toronto. Naomi Lim Kar Nee 林嘉妮, the top favorite and winner of Miss Photogenic but the organizer decides to exclude her in top 5. The flawless Chloe Lean Peck Luan 連碧鸞 and the beautiful Sharon Beh Sok Luan 馬舒鸞 and Emily Poon Pek Ling 潘碧寧. Anyone of them could easily secure a top 5 spot.

Miss Chinese International Pageant 2008 was not even a tight race. There were only few favorites like Ivy Han Xiaodan 韓曉丹 from Sydney, Ting Jia Rosalinda Lorigiano 黃婷佳 from Montréal, Kelly Meng 孟醇 from Melbourne, Desiree Yong 楊詩穎 from Singapore. We know Hong Kong contestant Kayi Cheung 張嘉兒 was not really in the running unless the other contestants were not that good. Miss Astro was disqualify before even reaching top 11 semifinalist. Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2008 had some good contestants but eliminated during qualifying round such as Kat Fong Lai Mei 馮笠玫 and Carolyn Liew Shi Jie 刘詩洁. During final, there were other hopefuls finalist too such as Kamen Lim Jia Voon 林嘉雯, Carine Choong Li Kuan 鍾佳伶, and Lam Li Naa 林麗娜.

The winner for Miss Chinese International Pageant 2009 was Christine Kuo 苟芸慧 from Toronto. Her winning of the crown was one of the most well deserving and indisputable in the history of Miss Chinese International Pageant. Christine Kuo 苟芸慧 was the favorite from the beginning all the way to the crown and no other contestants can even come close to her. There were 28 contestant this year and Astro contestant’s Kelly Tham Kar Lai 譚嘉麗 could not get into the top 8 finalist. The thing is, there were really not many outstanding contestants in Miss Chinese International Pageant 2009, except for Christine Kuo 苟芸慧 whom was almost guarantee to take the crown. Other contestants can only aim for runner up tittles. Malaysia would have a good chance for a runner up spot this year for a more reasonable representation.
