During Miss Malaysia Global Beauty Queen-Johor state 2016, there were some unexpected results. During Heat 3, one of my favorite contestant didn’t even reach the final. I think she is really cute.

My second favorite is June Pung Zhei Jun. She successfully become the top 14 finalist and reached the Johor final but didn’t manage to get into top 3. That was a shocking to many people because June Pung Zhei Jun won Miss Popularity and Miss Popularity means most people like her. Miss Popularity like Miss Photogenic are the most important titles in any beauty pageants. These are not any other subsidiary titles. When most people like a certain contestant, like June Pung Zhei Jun, there must be a reason for it.

Before the announcement of top 5, contestants were being awarded with subsidiaries titles.
Miss Photogenic is Angelica Tan by Idiom Event Management. I was expecting Iky or Alysia Lim, but Angelica Tan is not bad. This is an important title. Miss Photogenic would usually be at least in top 5.
Miss Congeniality is Katherine Yap by DCP VIP Plate & 3L Generation Group. Not a bad choice.
Miss Best Talent is Shermain Yew by SUAVISS Lab White. She was not a top 10 finalist.
Miss Body Beautiful is Florence Sze by Dress Delight Sexy & Bikini. She did carry herself well in bikini.
Miss Crowning Glory is Alysia Lim by SUB International School of Beauty Make Up. This is one of the most important title. It means who deserves and looks the best in the Crown. Alysia Lim is definitely the best choice.
Miss Charming is Miss Carmen Yuen by Black Bunny Nail Academy. Well Deserving.
Up to this point, titles awarded were pretty well represented except Iky have not received any titles.
Right after the subsidiaries titles, presentation we have reached the most important subsidiary title of all beauty pageant, Miss Popularity. Presented by Paramount Club, but decided by the people, not selected few judges. When a contestant get this award, it means most people think she deserves to win. It is Miss People’s Choice. People in the club are to vote by cash for their ultimate favorite contestant.

The result is clear. Alysia Lim has RM13500 votes followed by Katherine Yap with only RM5500 votes. It is crystal clear that Alysia Lim is the absolute favorite of the crowd. Then suddenly, someone decides to vote RM10000 for Yuli Yu who only has RM4100 votes. This makes her the highest votes with RM14100 votes with RM600 votes more than Alysia Lim. The difference is, Alysia Lim gets vote from many people, not just a few with cash. With seconds left, a gentleman vote RM2000 and added another RM1000 just in case to Alysia Lim making her the undisputed Miss Popularity winner with amazing RM16500 votes. Sorry Yuli Yu, that’s people’s power.
Before the announcement of the top 5 finalist, several top tier favorites were of course, Alysia Lim, then Katherine Yap and Iky. Carmen Yuen was also another top favorite among others.
The first contestant being announced was Alysia Lim. There were loud cheers as top 5 for her has to be guaranteed. Then, Carmen Yuen’s name was announced with another round of loud cheers. Carmen Yuen is a contestant that many wanted her to be in the top 5. Later, Katherine Yap and Patricia Phang Guan Qun were announced. When the host was going to announce the last contestant, everyone expect 19 years old favorite No. 9 Iky to be called, but the name was No, 5 Florence Sze. Shocking! What? Top favorite Iky was not in the top 5? No words can describe this unbelievable moment. It is shocking to the crowd, to the other contestants and also to Iky herself.
So, here are the top 5.
Alysia Lim. She has been the biggest winner for the whole night. Everybody wants her to win and she has all it takes to take the crown. For her, being in the top 3 is guarantee. There is no question about it. It is only a matter of being the winner, 1st runner up or 2nd runner up. Going by the tradition of announcing the 2nd runner up first, then 1st runner up and then the winner, the later her name was being announced is better because she can only go higher up. It is rationally not possible that Alysia Lim end up not in the top 3.
Carmen Yuen. She in interesting. Going for 1st runner up or 2nd runner up will definitely be a possible.
Katherine Yap. Likable. Top 3 possible.
Patricia Phang Guan Qun. An energetic contestant.
Florence Sze. Seriously I don’t even remember her.
2nd runner up announcement. We just hope its not Alysia Lim. She deserves a higher title. Maybe Carmen Yuen is a good choice. The winner was Patricia Phang Guan Qun.
1st runner up announcement. We just hope its not Alysia Lim. Not yet. She deserves a higher title. If she survives this one, she will be the champion as it is not possible that Alysia Lim are not in the top 3. We want hope for Carmen Yuen and that will mean Alysia Lim’s final will only be between her and Katherine Yap. For the sake of securing Alysia Lim’s crown, I was hoping that the 1st runner up goes to Katherine Yap. The winner was Carmen Yuen. Great choice.
The winner announcement. Between Alysia Lim, Katherine Yap, and Florence Sze, the choice is clear. The winner should be Alysia Lim. Katherine Yap has some small minor chances. But the unexpected happen. The winner is not Alysia Lim, not Katherine Yap, but Florence Sze. What? Florence Sze? Who? The crowd was shocked, the host was shocked. There were absolutely no cheers from the crowd.
Alysia Lim, you are the real winner of the people. Miss Crowning Glory and Miss Popularity not into top 3? This is the biggest joke of Miss Malaysia Global Beauty Queen 2016.
